Назначение HelpNDoc - создание справок, книг, инструкций, документации и т.п. в форматах CHM-файлов, HTML-файлов, формате PDF, Word, iPhone, Android, ePub и Kindle eBooks, а также справки файлов Qt Help. В HelpNDoc возможно создание собственных страниц справки, для этого в программе имеется свой редактор. Также справка может быть создана из файлов, созданных на стороне (путем импорта файлов или целых папок). Интерфейс последней версии сделан по типу интерфейса программ Microsoft Office - меню и панели инструментов заменили вкладки. В программе - 4 постоянные вкладки и несколько дополнительных.
